Comics

A comic book (often shortened to simply comic and sometimes called a funny book, comic paper or comic magazine) is a magazine made up of narrative artwork broken into "panels" that represent individual scenes, often accompanied by dialog (usually in word balloons, emblematic of the comic book art form) as well as including brief descriptive prose. The first comic book appeared in the United States of America in 1934, reprinting the earlier newspaper comic strips, which established many of the story-telling devices used in comics. The term "comic book" arose because the first comic books reprinted humor comic strips, but despite their name, comic books do not necessarily operate in humorous mode; most modern comic books tell stories in a variety of genres. The Japanese and European comic book markets demonstrate this clearly. In the United States the super-hero genre dominates the market, even though other genres also exist.

Renovated for Television
I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but watching renovation shows on television often leaves me feeling like I'm just not keeping up. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of a full kitchen or bathroom renovation in which everything comes together, and problems are solved, in a litter less than 30 minutes. Thos TV contractors turn out some seriously complex renovations in what feels like less time than the average lunch break.

Having been behind the scenes on the set of a few TV shows, I know there is a lot left out. The fact is, the crews that pull off those impressive renovations are forced to deal with the same laws of physics and time that the rest of us are. Paint takes the same amount of time to dry, tiles don't magically fit wherever we lay them and not every product is available and in stock on the shelves at the local home-improvement store. Post-production editing compresses time and cuts out the work done by several, sometimes dozens of helpers over many days, sometimes weeks.

HOYA may well be the world's largest producer of optical glass, but it really doesn't know how to run a camera company. It's true that the photographic side of Pentax was making loss when Hoya acquired the company in 2007, but instead of investing in new bodies and getting the brand back on track, Hoya seems to have stripped the life out of it. The 10-billion-yen sale of the Pentax camera business to Ricoh was surprising to some, as it's easy to forget that office and industrial machinery make Ricoh a very large company. I hope, and believe, that Ricoh will kick-start the K series once again and that we will see a new Pentax rising from the wastes of what it has become.

Mens Health Magazine March 2012

NEW UPLOAD

When I was 18, I was worried about my future. Where I should go to college? What do I want to be when I grow up? Men peak at 18, we've always been told, and the future looked like a scary and uncertain place. When I was 25, I was beside myself with worry about the future. Had I made the right choice, going into journalism and taking a job at this fledgling magazine called Men's Health? My freewheeling youth was behind me, and now I was a responsible, working adult. Would I be able to make it in a competitive office environment?. When I was 39, I was a total wreck about the future. "I'm turning 40!" I thought. I was saying goodbye to what left of my mouth, getting ready to accept the slow descent into middle age, wondering if I should make sure my new apartment came with an emergency beeper in the bathroom, in case I fell coming out of the tub.

PC Format Magazine Next-Gen Graphics March 2012

NEW UPLOAD

This issue we feature what is quite possibly the finest feature ever in PC Format. Starting on page 6 we set out to see what real difference a high-end rig makes over a budget system when it comes to gaming. We're not talking a small difference either, think 300 GBP versus 3000 GBP for three main components, and you should get an idea of what we're looking at.

the important differentiating factor with this feature is that the final decision about what is better doesn't come down to a long list of benchmarks (although we give you those as well) bot down to the real-world performance as perceived by four gamers. One rig may boast double the frame rate of the other, but is that disparity noticeable? Can a gamer see the difference? The results are alarming.

The high-end rig in this face off boasts the latest components and in the graphics department we have none other than the Radeon HD 7970, the much-anticipated next-generation card from AMD. We've done a full review of the card on page 26, and also get to see how it performs in CrossFire on p46 in a full rig.

It's always been PC Gamer's policy to play games through to completion at least once before writing our reviews. But as games become increasingly isn't easy to define particularly in the case of MMOs. Not only do they require hundreds and conceivably even thousands of hours to explore every narrative path with every class and character configuration, but they also evolve over time. And the pre-baked content available at launch is only one aspect of a game like The Old Republic, whose creative community and ambitious post-launch plans will determine its ling-term fate and whether or not you'll still be playing it a year from now. So when we review an MMO, we have to balance respect for the game (by experiencing enough content to assign a fair verdict) without readers desire to read our review of that game within their lifetimes. Your demand a comprehensive, exhaustive evaluation, but you don't pay us to take our sweet time.

What Digital Camera January 2012

NEW UPLOAD

The end of the compact?
When the iPhone4S was announced a few months back, most commentators and fans seemed disappointed that, on the face of it, here was a minor update midway through the phone's life, and not the radical upgrade that they were hoping for expecting. While the familiar, slick exterior remains, making the iPhone 4S virtually indistinguishable from the iPhone 4 at least to the untrained eye there's actually quite a bit that's changed internally. Why should you care? Well, the most noticeable change is the camera and the technology that goes with it. We've been lucky enough to have an iPhone 4S on test and all we can say is that photographers should be very excited indeed.

Popular Mechanics March 2012

NEW UPLOAD

In one of our very first issues, back in 1902, we told the story of Illinois schoolboy names Mark Richards, who built an automobile for himself. By saving money from his alter-school job blacking stoves, Richard cobbled together enough parts to assemble a runabout that rolled four skinny tires and was powered by a single-cylinder engine. "I had no knowledge of the principles and practice of gasoline engine construction," Richards said, "yet I not only managed to make it but to built the transmission mechanism, friction clutch, spark-timing mechanism, body running gear, etc., even doing the necessary blacksmith-ing.. I stuck to the job and am gratified with the result."

If Mark Richards were alive today, he would love the story of Bob Dullam, a sculptor in Kalamazoo, Mich., who receive one of our 2009 Backyard Genius Awards for building a replica of the Tumbler Bat-mobile. Dullam fabricate a steel chassis and laid on body plates made of epoxy reinforced with fiberglass matte, then dropped in a 350 Chevy V-8 and slapped on 44-inch-wide Super-Swamper tires. Why did Dullam spend $50.000 on his beast? "I like Batman," he says, "and the only way to get this car was to built it myself."

iPad & iPhone User Magazine - No.59 2012

NEW UPLOAD

If there one thing you need to be a successful technology journalist, it's a willingness to embrace change. (Well, that and a resistance to cheap alcohol). The tech industry changes continually, at a dizzying pace, and our job is to track its progress and try to work out where it's going. That's not easy at times, especially when you're focusing on a company as secretive and prodigiously innovative as Apple. But every now and then you get a clearer view of where we're headed.

This time of year is technology trade show season, and in the past month the iPad & iPhone User team have crossed the Atlantic four times: for the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and MacWorld | iWorld in San Francisco. This issue we report on the mind-blowing prototypes, proofs of concept and pre-release demos we saw, and the products we can expect to hit the market in the coming months.

Whether you're interested in giant flat-screens, top-of-the-line audio or gaming kit, the newest and weirdest docks and accessories for your iPhone or iPad, tablets and smartphones that are gunning for Apple's status as top dog, or just the cleverest gadget that the world's inventors have come up with, there's sure to be something in our 9-page special for you.

As we were sending this issue to press we got the news that Apple was joining the Fair Labor Association to help improve working conditions in its factories overseas. This is a great step forward for Apple and for anybody who cares their technology products are made and the conditions for the workers there. "No one in our industry is driving improvements for workers the way Apple is today," said Tim Cook, Apple CEO, in an internal email to all employees.

Apple does get more negative press about workers conditions than most technology companies, mainly because of its high profile and almost obsessive culture of secrecy, which is something we investigate on page 24 this issue. Apple is actually the first technology company to join the FLA, and I hope others soon follow suit.

We've become so accustomed to having our hands held by today's breed of eager-to-please games that being let off the leash can feel disorienting. Aren't we supposed to be following this path to that building? Should we really be poking about in this cave when we know that the real action is over there? Isn't all this messing around going to.. well, break something? And yet freedom to do what we like within an interactive space is as invigorating now as it was in 2001 when GTA III broke the mould for realtime gameworlds. (What, after all, would Skyrim be without its desire to cut you from the apron strings and push you out of the door?) Which is why the existence of a new Far Cry is something to be excited about.

T3 World's No.1 Gadgets Magazine - January 2012

NEW UPLOAD

So, that was the year that was. The year the Android Army marched on mercilessly to become the leading the leading smartphone OS. The year Anonymous and pals hacked us to within an inch of our credit-card details. And the year that every tech brand decided it had to make a tablet, despite Apple selling more iPads than the rest combined. It's been quite a circus.

Such a circus, in fact, that we've turned to The Gadget Show's gung-ho girl Pollyanna Woodward to play ringmaster. She's helped us round 2011's tech shenanigans up into some kind of order, while finding time to hypnotize a horse with a Playstation Move, as I say, it's been that kind of 12 months. Our 14-page review of the year starts on P68 and features 2011's finest five-star tech, all the events and VIP's that made it the most exciting year of gear yet. There's also our best, Nostradamus-aping predictions of varying degrees of reliability for 2012.

As well as analyzing your gadget year, we've also spent the month speaking to the people who made it so vibrant. First, we sent Lee Coan to New York to chat with hip-hop legend Dr Dre and his powerful business partner Jimmy lovine about the ever-growing phenomenon that is Beats Audio. PC Gamer World No.1 Game Magazine - February 2012

NEW UPLOAD

Unlike just about every person I have ever known or loved in this world, I'm not a big Star Wars fan. I know I just lost some points, but I'm throwing that out there because I think my semi-detachment makes me a bit more objective speculating about the success or failure of The Old Republic an unprecedented gamble not just in video game history, but in entertainment history as well.

I'm going on the record to say that The Old Republic is going to be, in the long run, a massive success on par with World of Warcraft. It's not because of the tens of millions that Ea will inevitably spend on promotion, and it's not because of the inexhaustible passion Star Wars fans have for the franchise. (As games like The Matrix Online and Star Trek Online have proved, the assets aren't enough to guarantee a game's success). Instead, it's because BioWare has distinguished itself as a master of interactive storytelling epic interactive storytelling that invites the player to navigate through a vast constellation of characters and narratives and moral dilemmas that ultimately resolve in a cathartic climax.

Of course, MMORPG's are a vastly different beast from BioWare's single-player games, including the Knight of the Old Republic series. That means it must move from "open world" gameplay to a truly open world, where players must be observed closely and the gameplay must evolve according to their diverse play styles.

Adhering to canon while accommodating the unique in-game cultures that players inevitably develop in successful MMO's is a tall order, but that's the challenge BioWare's taken on. It's been pursuing the craft of interactive fiction for the past 15 years, and The Old Republic represents a logical next step for a studio that remains as creatively ambitious as ever.

PC Format Magazine - January 2012 (UK)

Last year could have been one of the greatest ever for PC processing. After an awfully long wait for new high-end chips from AMD or Intel, verily they both delivered. The result could have been, and should have been, a titanic tussle for desktop supremacy.

Even for those who can't afford premium-priced chips and let's be honest, that's most of us the knock on effects would have been huge. Competition not only improves the breed, it also tends to push down prices. Faster chips and cheaper prices for all, in other words. As it turned out, neither AMD nor Intel's uber-processors were quite what we were expecting.

AMD's new Bulldozer-based FX processors, for instance, haven't exactly torn up the record books for raw computational grunt. Rumors of upcoming re-spins could translate into improved performance, of course. For now, the FX is AMD's new top chip and at least offers an intriguing alternative at certain price points.

Intel's latest range topper, the chip known as Sandy Bridge E, has indeed emerged as the hands-down fastest processor you can buy. But it's still not the massive leap forward we had hoped for. Worse than that, it very much looks like it's a case of Sandy by name, sand bagging by nature.

New Scientist 2011-12-24

NEW UPLOAD

"Begin with an earthquake and work up to a climax". That aphorism, usually attributed to legendary film producer Samuel Goldwyn, epitomises Hollywood's attitude to movie-walking : when you've got no better ideas, simply throw everything at the screen and hope to dazzle the viewer.

This year has felt like one of Goldwyn's movies, beginning with the first-act earthquake in Japan and working up to the financial crisis in Europe, via nuclear disaster, tumult in the Middle East, the assassination of the world's most wanted man and particles that travel faster than light. At times, the news was more gripping than anything Hollywood was producing.

And more bewildering, too. To put it in cinematics terms : this year's storyline has been pretty difficult to follow. Even the "experts" have been left struggling to anticipate or explain the course of events. Why? Because they, like the rest of us, have been seduced by simplistic models of complex systems that range from social policy to market economics to environment. Ideology has come to prevail over evidence; among some factions, blind faith in markets, destiny or deities has triumphed over reason.

Welcome to Flavour and a bumper issue to take you through the festive period, out the other side and into the New year. And what an issue we have...

I was lucky enough to visit Raymond Blanc's Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons recently and you'll see I went a little 'kid in a sweetshop' about that experience, our intrepid traveller Louis took off to Italy to research Nudo Olive Oils and we have put together a fantastic Cheese, Wine and Biscuit feature that should give you plenty of food for thought.

It's been a great year here at Flavour HQ and although we have lost (to pastures new) Miss Flavour herself and previous editor Holly, one thin that has not changed is the fantastic array of local producers that continue to stretch the food and drink boundaries with excellence and innovation, keeping hold of traditions that have served us all so well into gastro lives.

In late October, journalist Jill Singer wrote a piece on the death of Moto GP rider Marco Simoncelli. The feature fire up a huge and at times aggressive response from the motorsport community, and it's not hard to see why, with comments such as. "It's as though supporters can't face up to their complicity in how these young men came to die. They try to rationalize their dangerous thrill-seeking by saying the men died doing what they love, and in the next breath they talk of 'tragedy' and their disbelief when someone dies".

Jill goes on to suggest that we as motorsport fans actually "get off" on road trauma, "but it's not just squeamish women such as me (and I have seen more than enough road trauma in my life) who suspect that people are getting off on the carnage", and finishes off her piece by interring that fans have a part to play in death of a rider : "So for those who now grieve for Simoncelli, as yourselves : Isn't there perhaps just a speck of blood on your hands?

Absolute Brighton - January 2012

NEW UPLOAD

Hello readers, I hope you all enjoyed the festivities this year, and are recovering well from the usual overindulgence. As we embark upon the New Year, January is a good time to sit back and enjoy some quiet times after all those parties, and the socializing that comes with them. And as we reflect on the year gone by (and try to keep to those resolutions) there’s quite an excitement in the air as we plan how we would like to see our 2012 pan out.
In the world of interiors, there are some new and exciting products and designs that are said to be big this year. Personally, I love the new style that is proposed to be popular for 2012, opulence.
And as for those new technologies for the home, it all sounds very exciting. See page 32 where we discuss these new looks and innovations for the home.
2011 was quite a year for comedian David Williams. For not only did he launch his comedy series Come Fly With Me (that he created and starred in with Matt Lucas), he also astounded the British public with yet another mammoth swim in aid of Sport Relief, that saw him swimming an incredible 140 miles along the Thames (through all its glory, and filth.) Having recovered and gained his energy, David met up with our very own Danny Masters where he told him why it’s probably his last swim for charity and why he would ‘hate to share a plane flight with Sting!’ Page 24 Staying with charity this month, we also have interviews with two local and very interesting businessmen. Mike Holland (page 72) and Ryan Heal (page 68) make it their mission to help wherever they can with local charities that need the public’s support more than ever through these tough economical times. In each of their interviews, the same point comes across from them, that
more must and should be done to help these local organizations.
Absolute Brighton was proud to commend Ryan Heal for his tremendous work in the community with The Outstanding Brightonian Award as part of the Sussex Business and BAHBAs awards in December. He told us what receiving this accolade meant to him and what plans he has for the events he supports this coming year. Maybe instead of thinking about what we can do to improve our lives in 2012, we should be thinking
about what can we do to help to improve the lives of others this year.

PC Magazine Top 100 Websites - January 2012

NEW UPLOAD

What makes a great Web site these days? There's a lot that goes into it. Universal appeal, good design, and useful features are just the beginning, but the things we take into account first when we dive into evaluating sites for the Top 100 Web Sites each year.

Our classic list remains much the same with some sites making the list for the first time as the latest classics. Many are classics because they just remain constantly useful while staying relevant to an ever-changing audience.

The undiscovered portion of the list all sites that have been on this list before is, however, getting a little smaller. This year we narrowed it down to 39 sites, instead of the usual 50. Why? As we noted last year, the rise of mobile apps is cannibalizing the development of stand-alone Web sites for the desktop. There just aren't as many sites that seem as new (or new to us) and compelling as in the past. But there's still plenty that are, to go along with 61 classics that, if you haven't tried them by now, you really should.

Upgrade Your Network
Network connectivity can be found in nearly all of today’s electronics, and people are using more bandwidth than ever before thanks to cloud computing services, online applications (such as Google Docs and Hotmail), and streaming multimedia. If your network can’t handle the amount of Web traffic generated by your employees, you’re losing productivity. If you’ve noticed that your network often seems sluggish (or if you plan on expanding your website or workforce), now is the time to upgrade. There are a variety of reasons your network may be failing you. For example, the network router may not be compatible with the newest standards, such as 10 Gigabit Ethernet or 802.11n Wi-Fi. A simple router upgrade could improve the speed for everyone around the office. Alternatively, your ISP (Internet service provider) may not be providing you with enough bandwidth. It’s also possible that new Web applications, such as virtual videoconferencing or social networking, occasionally take up bandwidth to meet and interact with clients and customers. Whatever the case may be, you can read the following pages to help upgrade, secure, connect devices, and solve problems with your network.

The guests aren’t far away, the food’s under way and the drinks are chilled for your super Saturday barbeque with friends and family. There’s only one problem – the deck and wooden furniture look ravaged by time and the elements. What do you do?

Revive your deck
The first step and the most important step is preparation. Wattyl Deck & Timber Prep is specifically formulated to prepare your outdoor timber for oiling or staining. It features a non-bleaching formula that will remove dirt and grease while fighting mould and mildew. Wattyl Deck & Timber Prep is easy to use, simply prepare by mixing one part of the concentrate to 10 parts clean water. Use a garden sprayer or a watering can to spray a small area of your deck at a time and then lightly scrub with a stiff broom to lift dirt and mould from the wood. Rinse or hose off with fresh water then repeat this process until the whole area is completed. Ideally do this during cool or overcast weather. In higher temperatures, work in smaller sections at so it is possible to clean and rinse the deck before the cleaner dries. Once the deck is clean and dry, you can move on to staining.

Justice League Elite Comics Series Complete

NEW UPLOAD

Justice League Elite was a twelve-issue comic book limited series published monthly by DC Comics in 2004 and 2005. The title was created by writer Joe Kelly and penciller Doug Mahnke.

The Justice League Elite was formed to attempt black ops that would not be acceptable for the JLA to "sully their hands" with.

"The Justice League Elite are a not-exactly-sanctioned, don't-ask-don't-tell, covert operations unit-- newly formed to hunt and eliminate extra-normal threats to the earth before they go public." (JLA Secret Files and Origins 2004)

The team was formed at the end JLA #100 from most of the second incarnation of The Elite (only missing Hat), members of the JLA and a couple of spies/assassins. They operated out of Somerset, New Jersey.

Membership
Sister Superior, sister of the Elite's first leader Manchester Black, sees the Elite as a means of atoning for her brother's actions.

Coldcast, the only original member of the Elite in the JLE, and inspired by Superman to fight for right after his earlier actions in the Elite.

Menagerie, joined with an alien weapon crèche (formerly bonded to her comatose sister) which drove her insane, now in a metahuman prison facility.

Manitou Raven and his wife Dawn (who later becomes Manitou Dawn after her husband's death), serving as the team's magical expert.

Green Arrow (Oliver Queen), serving as the team's tactical expert and left-winger, commonly coordinating their battles from the base; has a brief affair with Dawn.

Flash (Wally West), working in the Elite after recent events caused him to question the League's policy of only reacting to threats; he was a member of both teams simultaneously, but used a new, dark costume for his time with the Elite.

Major Disaster, a former supervillain who reformed and went on to join the Justice League.

Kasumi, supposedly an assassin who killed two hundred men before she was sixteen, but actually an undercover Batgirl (Cassandra Cain), sent by Batman to monitor the Elite.

Naif al-Sheikh, an Arab expert in international espionage who was brought in by Vera Black because she believed his hatred of metahumans would keep the team in check.

Publication history
The series, written by Geoff Johns and Peter Tomasi, is scheduled to be published twice a month for 24 issues (25 if including issue #0) alternating with Justice League: Generation Lost written by Keith Giffen and Judd Winick. Johns has discussed the general theme:
Brightest Day is about second chances. I think it’s been obvious from day one that there are major plans for the heroes and villains from Aquaman to take center stage in the DC Universe, among many others, post-Blackest Night. 'Brightest Day' is not a banner or a vague catch-all direction for the DC Universe, it is a story. Nor is 'Brightest Day' a sign that the DC Universe is going to be all about 'light and brighty' superheroes. Some second chances work out…some don’t.

Brightest Day will also reportedly be crossing over into the Green Lantern series, the Green Lantern Corps, Justice League of America, The Titans and The Flash. It was later announced that Gail Simone would return to a new volume of the Birds of Prey comic book, which will also be under the same banner. Other tie ins include the first few issues of a relaunched Green Arrow and the Justice Society of America which will share a storyline with Justice League of America in July/August.[citation needed] Jeff Lemire is also writing the one-shot Brightest Day: Atom with artist Mahmud Asrar, that is designed to act as a springboard for an Atom story to co-feature in Adventure Comics with the same creative team.

It has also been announced that the Green Lantern series will feature more of the characters Atrocitus, Larfleeze, Saint Walker, and Indigo-1 in a story arc entitled "New Guardians." At Emerald City Comic-Con 2010, Johns also stated that Firestorm would be a "main character" in Brightest Day.[9]

The first issue, issue #0, was penciled by Fernando Pasarin. David Finch, a newly DC exclusive artist, will illustrate the covers for the entire series.

In June 2010, writer Geoff Johns announced that the "Brightest Day" event would also be used to introduce Jackson Hyde, the new Aqualad created for the Young Justice animated series, into the DC Universe. Similarly, the final issue of the series reintroduced Swamp Thing and John Constantine into the mainstream DC Universe after a number of years in DC's mature Vertigo imprint.

DC Blackest Night Series Complete

NEW UPLOAD

Background
"Blackest Night" is a 2009 - 2010 American comic book crossover storyline published by DC Comics, consisting of an eponymous, central miniseries written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Ivan Reis, as well as a number of tie-in books. "Blackest Night" involves Nekron, a personified force of death resurrecting deceased superheroes and seeking to eliminate all life and emotion from the universe. Geoff Johns has identified the series' central theme as "emotion." The crossover was published for eight months via a limited series, as well as in both the Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps comic titles. Various other limited series and tie-ins were published, including an audio drama from Darker Projects.

The storyline was first mentioned at the conclusion of the "Sinestro Corps War" in Green Lantern vol. 4, #25. As the war between the Green Lantern and Sinestro Corps reaches its climax, the four Green Lanterns of Earth (Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart, and Kyle Rayner) are told by the Guardians Ganthet and Sayd of the "Blackest Night" prophecy. According to the prophecy, the two existing Corps would be joined by five new ones, each driven by a specific emotion and empowered by a specific color of the emotional spectrum, leading to a "War of Light" that would subsequently destroy the universe. Johns says the prophecy has its origins in the story "Tygers" by Alan Moore, which touches on the rising up of the Guardians' enemies, like the Weaponers of Qward, Ranx the Sentient City, and the Children of the White Lobe, and the destruction of the Green Lanterns, showing Sodam Yat and Mogo dying. Atrocitus, however, denies the accuracy of this prophecy, suggesting that it blended the Blackest Night and the Sinestro Corps War with pure falsehood.

Johns later revealed that Nekron was the leader of the Black Lantern Corps in an interview with IGN, though he originally intended to keep that plot element a secret. Commenting on selecting the character as the "mastermind" behind his event, Johns provided the following explanation:
"For me it honestly was never a question. If I was going to do a Green Lantern storyline about the dead rising, the character I was going to use was going to be Nekron. He's pretty obscure, but like Black Hand, Sinestro and Hector Hammond – you know, these characters that had been a little under the radar for years or even decades – he's someone I wanted to pull out and reimagine and rebuild. And again as you're seeing, Ivan has done an incredible job, along with Joe Prado, on redesigning the character."

The teaser for the storyline stated that "...the armies of fear and willpower must come together, because across the Universe, the dead will rise." A hand was shown coming out of the ground with a black ring on its finger. The symbol on the ring is of Green Lantern villain Black Hand. Both Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver have stated that "Blackest Night" is the third part of a Green Lantern event trilogy that began with Rebirth and continued with "Sinestro Corps War". In an interview with IGN, Johns stated that he has the monthly Green Lantern book plotted up until issue #55. More details for the event were revealed in DC Universe #0, which depicted Green Lantern villain Black Hand discovering the black power battery on the planet of Ryut.

Blackest Night #0 was released on Free Comic Book Day 2009, and portrayed a series of events directly leading into Blackest Night #1. The standalone self-titled miniseries consists of the Free Comic Book Day issue and eight monthly issues. Tie-ins include issues of both Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps starting with the issues #43 and #38; and a handful of 3 issue limited series such as Blackest Night: Tales of the Corps, Blackest Night: Superman, Blackest Night: Batman, Blackest Night: Titans, Blackest Night: Wonder Woman, Blackest Night: Flash, and Blackest Night: JSA. Ethan Van Sciver had planned to work on the opening book as he did in the Sinestro Corps War, but because of his work on The Flash: Rebirth miniseries he was not able to complete both effectively. However, he still created many of the designs for this storyline along with Ivan Reis.

Plot
Green Lanterns Ash and Saarek find the Black Central Power Battery at a reportedly classified location within Sector 666. After touching the battery, Saarek reports that their presence has awoken something. The two are killed when two monstrous hands emerge from below them to the sound of the battery calling: "flesh." In Green Lantern Corps, a field of asteroids is depicted in an unknown region of space (the colors of the spectrum shown in the background). The asteroids which apparently are from the remains of the planet Xanshi, are shattered and a huge number of black power rings come through them.

In Gotham City, Black Hand removes a skull from Bruce Wayne's grave and carries it around with him as a Black Lantern power battery begins to charge.

The Guardians of Oa observe the War of Light and realize that Ganthet and Sayd have been right but are kept from intervening by Scar, who swiftly kills one and imprisons the rest. Thousands of black rings assault the Corps' crypt, creating a Black Lantern Corps as Hal Jordan and the newly revived Flash investigate Bruce Wayne's grave and are attacked by Black Lantern Martian Manhunter. On Oa, the Green Lanterns are met by all of the formerly deceased Lanterns now reborn as Black Lanterns. Hawkgirl and Hawkman are killed by Black Lanterns Elongated Man and Sue Dibny and also join the growing Black Corps.

The Atom is tricked by Black Lantern Hawkman into visiting him and Deadman is one of the first to realize the dead are not their true selves when his physical body revives as a Black Lantern while he is still free. Aquaman and his Black Lantern family attack Mera, who flees. A black ring strikes the Spectre, binding the spirit while reviving Crispus Allen as a Black Lantern. The rings are revealed to be unable to revive dead who are at peace, such as Don Hall, even as Hank rises. In Gotham, Flash and Hal Jordan are confronted by several Black Lanterns including Ronald Raymond.

Hal and Flash battle the Black Lanterns with Atom when the Indigo Tribe appears, and use their Indigo power with other rings to obliterate the Black Lantern Dibnys. Mera finds the new (still human) Firestorm and Gehenna, who merge to create a new Firestorm. Indigo says that all of the Lantern Corps must unite to truly defeat the Black one. The Indigo Tribe departs with Hal and leaves the other heroes to fight off the invading Black Lanterns, and Black Lantern Firestorm separates the Gehenna and Jason and uses his abilities to kill Gehenna and absorb Jason's conscience into his head. Black rings revive the villains whose remains have been in storage inside the Hall of Justice.

Mera and Flash flee the Black Lanterns using Atom's powers to escape through a phoneline. Flash leaves to give all the heroes nationwide the key to defeating the evil Lanterns (merging lights with a Green Ring) while the Atom and Mera and the Justice Society of America battle many Lanterns together. Jean Loring kills and causes Damage to revive as a Lantern and fully empower the Black Lantern power battery. Barry arrives in Coast City, where Scar has teleported in with the Black Central Power Battery. Black Hand then summons Nekron, who revives the residents of Coast City.

The JLA, the Titans, Wally West, and Bart Allen fight the Coast City Black Lanterns. Dove is revealed to be able to destroy Black Lanterns with her presence. Hal and various Lantern Corps significant members (Larfleeze, Atrocitus, Sinestro, Carol Ferris, Saint Walker, Indigo-1, Ganthet, and Sayd) return to Earth and attack Scar while she is attacking Wally West. Nekron has Batman's corpse (later revealed to not be Bruce at all, but a clone) briefly reanimated to gain a necessary connection and sends rings to many heroes (Superman, Wonder Woman, Superboy, Green Arrow, Kid Flash, Donna Troy, Ice, and Animal Man), previously killed and revived thanks solely to Nekron, into yet more Black Lantern members as Hal and Barry try to outrace their rings.

Allen time-travels himself and Jordan two seconds into the future and disable their rings. Mera and the Atom arrive. John Stewart warns Hal that every Black Lantern in the universe is heading for Earth. Jordan says they need the entire seven Corps to unite to produce White Light.

While they summon the seven Corps to Earth, Ganthet duplicates the seven colored rings present and deputizes certain non-Corps members: Ganthet as Green, Barry as Blue, Mera as Red, Lex Luthor as Orange, Scarecrow as Yellow, Atom as Indigo, and Wonder Woman as Violet (separating her from her Black Ring).

The Corps Leaders and deputies fight Nekron but cannot stop him, partly due to Luthor becoming overwhelmed by the Orange light of avarice. John Stewart is trying to stop the horde of Black Lanterns when the combined Six Corps arrive to join together and battle the Black Lanterns. In Coast City, Dove tries to get at the Black Lantern Battery but is forced back as a being from within the battery tries to get out.

Nekron kills a Guardian and uses his blood to cause a cocoon to emerge. Ganthet reveals that this is the White Light Entity that triggered existence. He then reveals that life in the universe actually began on Earth, a lie the Guardians upheld to protect the Entity and justify their power. Nekron stabs the Entity, causing living beings across the universe to feel pain and leading Sinestro's anger at Abin Sur losing his life to stab Ganthet.

Hal realizes the Entity is like Parallax and Ion and in need of a guiding "pilot", and tries to merge with it, but is blocked by Sinestro (angry that Hal recently reused Parallax, who Sinestro feels he deserves) who demands the Entity's power. He emerges as he is told "Thaal Sinestro of Korugar. Destiny awaits".

Sinestro is promptly killed by Nekron, but the White Ring revives him. Sinestro retaliates and kills Nekron, but his scythe is picked up by a Black Lantern human who becomes Nekron and says "death cannot be stopped"; Ganthet notes that Sinestro cannot properly control the Entity as it is being powered by Sinestro's ego rather than his will to live.

The united Lantern Corps attack Nekron while Deadman possesses Guy Gardner and explains that Black Hand is Nekron's tether and that he must be revived to defeat Nekron. Nekron separates Sinestro from the Entity as Hal says Nekron opened the door to death but it was the decision of the heroes to live. Hal merges with the Entity and transforms himself and the Black Lantern heroes into a White Lantern Corps, who restore Black Hand to life; this causes Hand to regurgitate a White Ring which revives the trapped (in the Black Lantern Battery) Anti-Monitor. Nekron briefly fights the Anti-Monitor and banishes him to his home in Qward, the Antimatter universe.

Black Hand begins regurgitating a cluster of white rings that destroy Nekron. The rings bring only twelve Black Lanterns back to life: Maxwell Lord, Professor Zoom, Jade, Hawk, Captain Boomerang, Firestorm (Ronnie Raymond), the Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Deadman, and Osiris.

Upon seeing Aquaman alive, Mera's love causes her ring to depart, sending her into cardiac arrest without the ring's support. Star Sapphire and Saint Walker join their powers together to restore her to normal and Aquaman and Mera share a joyful reunion. Hawkgirl recalls her past lives and removes her helmet to reveal that she is once again Shiera Hall and embraces Hawkman. Superman expresses his happiness that J'onn has returned while Firestorm forcibly separates into Ronald Raymond and Jason, the latter upset over Ronnie having killed his girlfriend.

As Mera comforts Jason, Ronnie is confused and asks Atom what is happening and where Professor Stein is. Guy, mind-controlled by Lord, lets him escape. Jade kisses Kyle, unaware he is in love with fellow Green Lantern Soranik Natu. Osiris, confused, states that he wants to return home, as Superboy and Kid Flash (who only knows him by name) try to figure out who he is.

After Professor Zoom flees, Flash knocks out Captain Boomerang. Barry notes that Ralph and Sue Dibny are not among the revived. Boston Brand, the only one of the resurrected still wearing a White Ring, is stunned to realize he is alive and something is wrong. Larfleeze returns an unconscious Lex Luthor (stripped of his ring), briefly realizing that he's given something away, and demands Sayd to honor her debt to him.

Ganthet protests but Sayd tells him it's all right and believes she can help Larfleeze somehow. She then says that there is much to discuss about the future of all of the Lantern Corps. Saint Walker then notices that the Indigo Tribe is missing as well as Black Hand. On the Indigo home world, the missing Black Hand is now a member and prisoner of the Indigo Tribe, chained to an indigo power staff.

Hal and Barry realize the Black Lantern Batman being a fake means that Bruce Wayne is still alive somewhere. Barry wonders what became of the Entity and Hal says it is still out there, urging them all to move on past the events of the Blackest Night to the future.

Elsewhere, on a distant road, a White Power Battery is found in a crater.

Batman Movie Adaptions Complete

NEW UPLOAD

The fictional character Batman, a comic book superhero featured in DC Comics publications, has appeared in various films since his inception. The character first starred in two serial films in the 1940s, Batman and Batman and Robin. The character also appeared in the 1966 film Batman, which was a feature film adaptation of the campy 1960s Batman TV series starring Adam West, who also starred in the film.

Toward the end of the 1980s, the Warner Bros. studio began producing a series of feature films starring Batman, beginning with the 1989 film Batman, directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton. Burton and Keaton returned for the 1992 film Batman Returns, and in 1995, Joel Schumacher directed Batman Forever with Val Kilmer as Batman. Schumacher also directed the 1997 film Batman & Robin, which starred George Clooney. Batman & Robin was poorly received by both the critics and the fans, and after a long hiatus in which multiple possible Batman scripts were developed, Warner Bros. rebooted the film franchise in 2005 with Batman Begins, directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale. Nolan also directed the 2008 sequel The Dark Knight with Bale reprising his role. A third and final installment, The Dark Knight Rises, is in production and is scheduled to be released in Summer 2012.

Batman has also appeared in multiple animated films, both as a starring character and as an ensemble character. While most animated films were released direct-to-video, the 1993 animated feature Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was released theatrically.

Batman The Return Of Bruce Wayne Complete

NEW UPLOAD

Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne is a 6-issue American comic book limited series published by DC Comics beginning in May 2010 to November 2010, written by Grant Morrison and featuring a team of rotating artists starting with Chris Sprouse and Frazer Irving.

The series picks up from Batman and Robin #12. The series detailed the journey Bruce Wayne takes through the time stream of the DC Universe after being deposited in the distant past by Darkseid in Final Crisis. Wayne has to overcome amnesia and "history itself" in order to make his way back to present-day Gotham City and retake his rightful place as Batman. The series ran for six issues, each covering a different time period. The time periods are the prehistory, the witch hunts, pirates at sea, the wild west, the noir era (just a few months after Batman was orphaned), and present day, and usually depict the Batcave or the Wayne Manor. Bruce Wayne also visits "The End Of Time".

Plot
Struck by the time-and-space-bending Omega Beams of the alien god Darkseid, an amnesiac Bruce Wayne is cast back in time to the dawn of history. Nearly killed by a tribe of Neanderthals led by the immortal caveman who will become Vandal Savage, Wayne is rescued by a younger human, who returns his utility belt to him. Operating more on instinct than actual knowledge, Wayne dons the pelt of a giant bat and uses the tools in his belt against the cavemen, but is eventually forced to flee by jumping over a waterfall. His prehistoric actions gave birth to the "Bat-people". When he recovers at the bottom, he finds he has jumped further forward in time, arriving in Puritan times.

His first act in this new era is to save a woman named Annie from a monstrous, tentacled creature, after which he tries to build a life for himself in the small colony of Gotham. Calling himself "Mordecai", he joins the ranks of the local witch-hunters alongside his own ancestor Nathaniel Wayne, and uses his forensic skills to solve crimes that might otherwise be blamed on witchcraft. When Annie is revealed to be a witch and claims responsibility for summoning the monster, Bruce is unable to stop her being hanged by Nathaniel. Unaware that the man she promised to love "Until the end of time" is a Wayne himself, Annie curses the Wayne family before she dies. Wayne again finds himself catapulted forward in time.

Wayne appears in the 18th century, where he is confronted by legendary pirate Blackbeard. Blackbeard believes Wayne is the fabled Black Pirate, plunderer of the treasures of the ancient tribe of the Miagani, or "Bat-People", and demands Wayne take him to said treasures. Blackbeard's other captive, a boy named Jack Loggins confides in Wayne that he is the grandson of the Black Pirate. Jack then helps Wayne stage a deception that disposes of Blackbeard and all but one of his crew. Afterward, the Miagani guide Wayne to the deepest part of their caves, where he finds his own cape and cowl, left hanging there after his arrival in prehistory. The cape stirs Wayne's memories, and before they fade once more, he instructs Jack to write an account of these events, and place it in a box marked with a bat symbol to be entrusted to the Wayne family. At dawn, Bruce disappears into the timestream once more, moving forward to the late 19th century, and the Wild West.

In this new time period, Wayne fashions an identity for himself as a masked "gunfighter" (though he still has a "no killing" and a "no guns" policy), targeting the operations of Vandal Savage. Savage hires bounty hunter Jonah Hex to deal with Wayne, while he conspires with Simon Hurt (already donning the alias of "Dr. Thomas Wayne")—a mysterious, apparently immortal enemy of Wayne's who he had battled in the present day before being set back in time—to steal the box from the Wayne family. Wayne rescues the current holder of the box from the villains, who recognizes him as the box's true owner, but before he can look inside, he is shot by Jonah Hex and falls off a dock into the waters of what will one day be Gotham Bay. Following this encounter, the newly founded Wayne family (Bruce's ancestors) build Wayne Manor on a nearby cliffside, and hide the box in the caves below it: the same caves the Miagani used to occupy, which will one day become the Batcave.

Bruce emerges in the 20th century (the exact time is intentionally vague; the clothes and cars suggest the 1930s, but Bruce is told that "retro is big this year") and is taken to hospital to recover from the gunshot wound, where he meets a woman named Marsha. It transpires that Wayne has arrived in Gotham not long after the deaths of his own parents, and that Marsha was a friend of his mother's who believed his father, Thomas Wayne, had her murdered and faked his own death. She hires Bruce to investigate her theories, but when the suspicious Bruce tracks her to a graveyard, it is revealed that she is a member of Doctor Hurt's devil-worshipping Black Glove organization, who intends to sacrifice him to the Miagani's god, Barbatos, (the legend of which was presumably inspired by Wayne himself) to gain immortality. The ritual involves a time machine created by Professor Carter Nichols, but Bruce disrupts the proceedings by stealing the machine and escaping through time once more.

Wayne materializes at Vanishing Point, the vast archive of all history that exists at the end of time, moments before the death of the universe. Here, Bruce's memories return, and the entire truth comes out: Darkseid never intended to kill him with the Omega Sanction, but instead relied on him to survive, building up more and more destructive "Omega Energy" within his body every time he jumped through history. To prompt these jumps, Darkseid sent a servant, a hyper-dimensional monster known as the Hyper-Adapter, to follow Wayne through time, but because of the clues he had left for himself throughout time (his cape and cowl, a portrait of himself, the box) Bruce had known of Darkseid's plan before it had even been enacted, and arranged for his memory to be blanked in order to prevent the Hyper-Adapter from locating him. Now that his memories have returned, the Hyper-Adapter has followed him to Vanishing Point.

While all of this has been going on, Bruce's allies in the Justice League of America have realized that he is still alive, and have been searching for him. Superman, Rip Hunter, Green Lantern and Booster Gold have been traveling through time (events chronicled in the companion mini-series, Time Masters: Vanishing Point), constantly one step behind Bruce, and now arrive at Vanishing Point just as the final step of Wayne's plan goes into motion. Merging with the robotic Architects that maintain Vanishing Point, he has had his memory wiped once more and allows the Hyper Adapter to possess his body, so that he can bring it back to the present day 21st century using the Time Sphere that his allies arrive in. Per Bruce's plan, the combined might of the Justice League defeats the creature, rips it from his body and hurls it back into the Time Sphere, catapulting it backward through time, defeated. The threat of the Omega Energy remains, however, and so the Justice League medically stop Bruce's heart, inducing death and allowing the energy to dissipate. Before his heart is restarted, the comatose Bruce experiences one final vision of Darkseid and Metron, the former inviting him to embrace Anti-Life, and the latter urging him to dispel Darkseid by facing "the first truth of Batman". Bruce recalls the night he first conceived of the identity of Batman, as seen in Batman: Year One, when his faithful butler Alfred Pennyworth saved his life by stitching fatal wounds, and speaks the truth: as much as he has attempted to claim it all during his crime-fighting career, the Batman has never been alone. Wayne awakens from the coma, purged of the radiation, and dons his cape and cowl once again, commenting that Gotham's disease has spread beyond its borders...and that once again, Batman is needed.

Air Gear Manga Complete

NEW UPLOAD

Air Gear (エア・ギア Ea Gia) is a shōnen manga written and illustrated by Ito "Oh Great" Ōgure. Air Gear revolves around the life of Itsuki Minami "Ikki", also known as "Baby Face", "Lil (and Little) Crow", and his friends. The story follows their use of Air Treks, an in-universe invention derived from inline skates. Initial sections of the plot carries out the introduction of characters that eventually join Ikki. As the story progresses, it focuses on their roles as Storm Riders and their quest to be on the top of the Trophaeum Tower. Air Gear won the 2006 Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category.

Plot
A new fad by the name of 'Air Treks' (a futuristic evolution of aggressive skating) has swept the nation's youth and all over gangs are being formed that compete in various events using their A-T's. Ikki is a middle-school boy who is the toughest street-fighting punk on the east side of town, on top of that he lives with 4 gorgeous sisters that took him in when he was a kid. But what Ikki doesn't know is that the girls are part of one of the most infamous A-T gangs, 'Sleeping Forest'. It doesn't take long before Ikki finds out about the world of Air Trecks and is propelled into a fate he had not foreseen.

Characters
Itsuki "Ikki" Minami
The main protagonist of the story, he was given Air Treks (in the anime, he took them himself) and soon delved into the world of Storm Riders. There is a small crow named Kuu that lives in his hair. In the anime, Kuu was used as a censor. Eventually he creates a team, Kogarasumaru with his two best friends, Kazu and Onigiri. Eventually Buccha, Agito/Akito (Lind is discovered at a later time) join Kogarasumaru. Originally trained to become the Wind King, and eventually the Sky King by Sora, he soon finds himself betrayed by Sora and Nike (Sora's twin brother), who conspire together to steal his Regalia. When they do this, Ikki is stripped of the chance to become the Wind King. Shortly thereafter, Ikki is instead named the Storm King, following the "Hurricane Road." He has the ability to use his Air Trick's to manipulate the wind. His special techniques allows him to create a space where there is no wind called Null Wind, similar to the eye of a hurricane, which may explain his road's name.(Battle level of 117 in battle with Sleipnir)

Kazuma "Kazu" Mikura
A long-time friend of Ikki, Kazu is a friend who's always by his side. He is a speed-type rider who has recently inherited the title of Flame King following the path of the Flame Road, along with Spitfires old AT's. Due to his speed he got the nickname Stealth. His special techniques allows him to 'manipulate time' (this technique is actually just an illusion, where he moves too fast for the normal human eye, thus making him able to fool the opponent with his speed, one of these tricks being the 'cloning' which is just all his afterimages) and literally marking out a 'Flame Road', where he rides his AT's at such high speeds that the heat caused by the friction of the wheels creates the illusion of flames. These two techniques are, at some level, inherited from Yasuyoshi Sano, the Aeon Clock, and Spitfire, the former Flame King, respectively. This is highly likely, as they both followed the Flame Road.(Battle level of 89 in battle with Sleipnir, and over 200 in battle with Nike)

Onigiri
Also a long-time friend of Ikki, Onigiri is a "perverted pig" as called by most. He has an unorthodox riding style, wearing his Air Tricks on his head and riding it upside-down. He has his own unique Road called the Smell Road, which uses an opponents senses against them. (Battle level of 36 in battle with Sleipnir however in the battle with Nike his Battle level skyrocketed to 326)

Issa Mihotoke "Fats Buccha"
Formerly of the Team Yaō (Night Kings),recently named as Mountain King, Buccha was defeated by Ikki and his team was forced to disband. Eventually, he joins Ikki's team as one of the main power riders, making use of his extremely large build and strength. In the manga he is known as the Black Pig for his seemingly overweight appearance. Ironically he isn't truly fat; because all of the blood from his muscles go from his body to his belly due to his constant over eating, explained in episode 17, and when he needs to, he reverts all the blood to his upper muscles, gaining super human strength, and an extremely well built appearance. Being considered one of the two weakest in the group next to Onigiri, with the help of the cyber Spitfire, Buccha set out down a road of enlightenment. This road he discovers he is also able to transfer his blood to his lower muscles giving him great speed to rival Orca (Genesis gravity child after the fang regalia).(Battle level of 68 in battle with Sleipnir)

Akito/Agito/Lind Wanijima
He is the Fang King (a.k.a the Shark) with a split-personality. Akito is the "light" side while Agito is the "dark" side. They used to work for the police team of "WIND" led by their "brother" Kaito, until inspired by Ikki to leave and join Kogarasumaru. Their split-personality changes depending on the side their eye patch is worn. Akito wears his patch on his right eye, Agito on his left. Later, a new personality named Lind emerged. Lind is like a "big brother" personality akin to Akito/Agito's older brother, Kaito Wanijima. He claims he is the original personality of the body. Akito/Agito/Lind are the second strongest members of Kogarasumaru. Recent Chapters have revealed the Lind persona to be the Original Brain Charger known as Gazelle. The Kaito's Past arc revealed that Gazelle was female as well as the original Thorn Queen, who had a "special" relationship with Kaito. After Kaito and Gazelle's battle with the Takeuchi twins resulted in Gazelle's death, Rinta Minami was able to recover her body and revive her and Kaito's child, who happens to be Akito/Agito/Lind as revealed in Chapter 300. Further details to how the Akito/Agito personas came to be have yet to be revealed.(Battle level of 122 in battle with Sleipnir)

20th Century Boys and 21st Century Boys Manga Complete

NEW UPLOAD

20th Century Boys (20世紀少年 Nijusseiki Shōnen) is a science fiction-mystery manga created by Naoki Urasawa. It won the 2001 Kodansha Manga Award in the General category, an Excellence Prize at the 2002 Japan Media Arts Festival, and the 2003 Shogakukan Manga Award in the General category. The last two volumes of the story were serialized under the name 21st Century Boys (21世紀少年 Nijūisseiki Shōnen). The series makes many references to rock music as well as a number of 1960s-1970s anime; its title is based on T.Rex's famous song, "20th Century Boy".

Urasawa wrote 20th Century Boys along with another popular title, Monster, for two years (Monster ended in 2001). It was licensed by VIZ Media in 2005; however, at Urasawa's request, it has been rescheduled for release after Monster finishes its English serialization due to a change in art style over time.

A live action movie adaptation, directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi, was released in Japan on August 30, 2008, as the first part of a trilogy of films. The second film was released on January 30, 2009, with the final part being released August 2009 (Both the USA and Japan shared the same premiere date of the final film, with the U.S. premiere exclusively being at the VIZ Cinema in San Francisco).

Synopsis
In 1969, young boys Kenji, Otcho, Yoshitsune and Maruo build, in an empty field, a hideout they call their secret base, in which they and their friends can get together to share manga and stolen porn magazines and listen to a radio. To celebrate the event, Otcho draws a symbol for the base that would represent their friendship. After their friends Yukiji and Donkey join the gang, they imagine a future scenario where villains would try to destroy the world, and in which the boys would stand up and fight; this scenario is transcribed and labeled Book of Prophecy (よげんの書 Yogen no sho).

The series itself opens in the late 1990s, where Kenji is a convenience store owner, finding solace in his childhood adventures as he takes care of his baby niece Kanna and his mother. After Donkey is reported to have committed suicide, Kenji stumbles upon a large cult led by a man known only as "Friend". The cult has a plan to destroy the world on New Year's Eve of 2000, (referred to in the latter half of the story as the Bloody New Year's Eve), and the events that are currently unfolding are suspiciously close to the plan documented in the Book of Prophecy. Kenji begins to recruit some of his older friends, including Otcho and Yoshitsune, in an attempt to stop Friend.

The series spans several decades, from 1969 to 2017, which in the chronology of the series, becomes 3FE (3rd Year of the Friend Era). The series makes two distinct timeline cuts during the story; one from 2000 to 2014, and one from 2014 to 3FE. Several parts of the series are also told in flashbacks to previous events as the characters attempt to unravel the mystery of who Friend is and how to stop his plans of world destruction; most of the children's backstories through the 70s and 80s are told in this fashion.

Overall, the plot follows the friends as they initially try to piece together what the Book of Prophecy contained, and eventually attempt to predict the next attack, which begins with biological attacks on San Francisco and London, followed by a series of bombings at a major Japanese airport. The attack on the eve of 2000 involves a "robot", which is revealed to be a giant balloon with robotic appendages. Kenji manages to get inside the robot to plant a bomb in it, and is presumed killed when the bomb explodes. From this event, in which Friend uses a monument to destroy the robot, Friend and the Friendship Democratic Party (友民党 Yūmintō), his titular political group, gain widespread political and even religious power, as Friend is slowly beginning to be viewed as a religious icon. Friend then reveals a new plan, a continuation of the Book of Prophecy, in which he plans to kill every human being on Earth except for 3 million of his friends, but he is then assassinated by his chief scientist. Following this, Friend's funeral becomes a worldwide spectacle, held in a stadium with the Pope giving the address. Partway through the service, Friend appears to rise from the dead and is shot in the shoulder by his own assassin. Friend made it appear like he saved the Pope, leading him to worldwide acclaim and power.

The final portion of the story takes place in a newly remodeled Japan, under the Era of Friend, who has instituted numerous bizarre changes, including the establishment of an Earth Defense Force, reputedly to protect Earth from an imminent alien invasion. During this time frame, Kanna, who is revealed to be Friend's daughter, leads an insurgency against Friend's government, enlisting the aid of numerous groups, including the survivors of rival gangs and mafia organizations. During this, Kenji, apparently also risen from the dead and carrying his trademark guitar, reappears.

Kungfu Boy and New Kungfu Boy Manga Complete

NEW UPLOAD

Ironfist Chinmi (鉄拳チンミ, Tekken Chinmi?) is a Japanese manga series written by Takeshi Maekawa. It was published by Kodansha in Monthly Shōnen Magazine from 1983 to 1997 and collected in 35 tankōbon volumes. It is centered around the story of a boy called Chinmi who learns Kung Fu through the staple manga method of fighting progressively more challenging foes. The first 12 volumes were published in English in the UK by Bloomsbury. The series was adapted as a anime television series in 1988, which was dubbed in English in the early 90's as Kung Fu Boy and into Arabic as MadressaT El Kung Fu" (Kung Fu School). The latter is considered to be one of the most popular anime in the Arabic speaking countries.[citation needed] In Indonesia, the series known as Kungfu Boy.

In 1987, the manga won the Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen. It was followed by a sequel series, Shin Tekken Chinmi ("New Ironfist Chimni").

Story
Chinmi is a boy who was helping his sister in restaurant business. He has a certain talent in martial arts, and used to play with his pet monkey named Goku (named after the Monkey King Sun Wukong) in the forests, causing him to develop great agility. He is prophesized to become a master of martial arts, under the Dairin Temple. After defeating people who harasses his sister's restaurant, an old martial artist from the Dairin Temple (usually referred as 'Old Man') witnessed his talent and arranged him to depart into Dairin Temple. From there, Chinmi learned Martial Arts, especially Kung Fu. It spans from the first to the sixth volume.

Starting from the sixth volume, Chinmi starts learning weapon-based Martial arts, mainly using long rods. He gained a friendly rival, Xu Fang. Chinmi's rod training saga ends at the 8th volume, which continues with the next saga about training with the revered Master You Sen. Chinmi later learned one of his signature moves, also fought against a foreign boxer Dick Stainer, one of the opponents that could possibly defeat him (although the result was draw), but later Master You Sen died, and Chinmi prompted to go on a journey to master his skills.

The journey spans in many volumes, but starting on the 23rd volume, Chinmi was forced to return to Dairin Temple after the temple was desecrated by a former apprentice of You Sen, the ruthless prodigal Oudow. Chinmi tasted true defeat for the first time against Oudow, but later the Old Man told him the secrets of Dairin Temple's forbidden move: the Thunder God Fist, one that could almost instantly kill the victim. Due to Dairin's no-killing policy, Chinmi hesitated to use it even to Oudow, but he used it anyway, crippling Oudow and prompted Chinmi to leave the temple, thinking that he violated the rules of not killing his opponents. Fortunately for him, he found out that Oudow actually survived and as a result softened his attitude, enabling Chinmi to truly return to the Temple. He is later promoted into a Kung Fu teacher.

As a teacher, Chinmi garnered a group of students, but the most notorious and rebellious was Gundi, though he later becomes enchanted with Chinmi's bravery and virtue to actually be more tolerant with his friends. After reacquainting with his students, Chinmi was thrust into the next saga where he fought the Wind Wolves army of horsemen (Fictional race based on the nomadic Mongolian and Manchurian tribes), who set their sights on Gundi's hometown. His deeds were noticed by the main general of Chinese army and invited him to meet the Emperor himself.

Chinmi attended to his sister's wedding before heading to the capital. It turns out that the Emperor invites him to participate in a tournament of martial arts. Chinmi was reunited with Xu Fang, but it turns out that he was brainwashed by an assassin who plotted to use him to kill the Emperor. Chinmi also befriended Dan Dan, a youth experts in martial arts solely based on kicking, and he helped him restore Xu Fang's mind and foiling the assassin's plot to kill the Emperor. Chinmi ended up as the champion and returned to the Dairin Temple. The first series of the manga ended there.
